At CID's HEART, we are dedicated to being there for our brothers and sisters. Our mission is to provide essential support for veterans and improve the lives of the men and women who have served. Whether through the various branches of the Military, Fire & Rescue, Law Enforcement, or Paramedic/EMT services, we're here to show you that we'll always have your six!
CID's HEART honors the sacrifices made by our nation’s veterans and first responders by offering comprehensive first responders resources, housing, and outreach services rooted in the values of Compassion, Integrity, and Dedication.
We exist to serve those who served and to ensure that veterans, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders who answered the call are never forgotten!

Jay served two tours in Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart in 2005 as a Cavalry Scout with the 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment. After leaving the Army in 2006 at the rank of SGT, Jay worked as a patrol officer in Savannah, GA for three years. After battling PTSD and the various challenges that come with a life of service, Jay found his saving grace in helping others like him. For years, he has been a Certified Peer Specialist and is currently the Executive Director of Three Hots and a Cot, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for veterans and helping struggling service members find a new opportunity at life. The name "CID's HEART" honors his dear brother-in-arms, SPC. Joseph "CID" Lucas, who selflessly gave his life in combat in 2005, and reflects the commitment to first responders resources that aid those who have served.

Devin served 4 years in the Active Army as an Aviation Operations specialist in a MEDEVAC unit. After 9-11, she joined the Alabama National Guard, motivated by the attack on the US to return to the job she loved most—serving her country. Devin deployed to Iraq in 2003 as a signal specialist with the 279th Signal Battalion and served under the 1st Infantry Division while in Iraq. Upon her return to the US, she remained on active duty with the Alabama National Guard and concluded her career as a Recruiter for the National Guard. Devin achieved her Master Recruiter badge before retiring at the rank of SFC, and helping others find their path to military service was her greatest achievement, which is close to CID's HEART. She values the importance of first responders resources and support for veterans. Devin is married and has three children and four grandchildren.
